Description
The Alise pairs a pear cut centre diamond with round brilliant diamonds micro-set both around the halo and along the shoulders, so the sparkle builds continuously from the centre stone outward rather than stopping at a single frame.
A pear cut combines the brilliance of a round cut at one end with the elongating effect of a marquise at the other, tapering to a single point — worn with the point facing up the finger, it has a flattering, elongating effect that’s distinct from any other diamond shape. Because a pear cut has an asymmetrical outline, its proportions matter more than on symmetrical cuts; a well-balanced pear should have even curves on both sides of the point.
The halo and shoulder diamonds are micro-set, meaning they sit flush within the metal itself with no raised claws — a technique chosen here specifically because it lets the halo trace the pear’s more complex, curved outline smoothly, which claw-setting would struggle to do as cleanly.
The centre diamond shown is 0.96ct (9mm x 5.7mm), with a total halo and shoulder diamond weight of approximately 0.30ct, F colour, VS clarity. The ring is 2mm wide, with a total weight of approximately 3.7g in 18ct gold or 4.8g in platinum. Every ring is hallmarked — 750 for 18ct gold, 950 for platinum.
Priced from £2,050 (final price depending on diamond choice). This ring sits flush next to any wedding band, including the matching April diamond band shown here.
