Description
The Charlotte in oval brings the same claw-set simplicity as our round solitaire to an elongated shape — a single oval brilliant cut diamond, set with nothing to distract from the stone itself.
An oval cut has one clear practical advantage over a round diamond of the same carat weight: its elongated silhouette gives more visible surface area across the finger, so an oval typically looks larger than a round stone of identical weight. The trade-off is the “bow-tie” effect — a subtle shadow that can appear across the centre of an oval cut — which is why cut quality matters more here than on a round brilliant; a well-cut oval keeps this effect to a minimum.
The diamond shown is 1.00ct (8.2mm x 5.50mm), on a 2.7mm band, with a total ring weight of approximately 3.8g in 18ct gold or 4.9g in platinum. Every ring is hallmarked — 750 for 18ct gold, 950 for platinum.
Priced from £1,400 (final price depending on diamond choice). This ring sits flush next to any of our wedding bands, including the Sabina wishbone diamond band shown here.
